阿蒙坚信他找到了爆炸案的主谋，然而疑犯4个月前就进了医院，昏迷不醒。旧金山富人区一个宁静的下午，阿曼达打电话的时候收到了转寄过来的包裹，她是两个月前才搬到这里的。她打开包裹绳的时候，炸弹爆炸了。阿蒙发现了几个疑点：包裹的包装带打结的方式非常奇特；包裹上写着的是阿曼达的旧地址，也就是说寄件人并不知道她两个月前搬到了这里。而若阿曼达去世，父亲丰厚的遗产不知花落谁家。那么，除了三个不懂事的孩子，就只有阿曼达的两个兄弟了。有嫌疑的是阿曼达的另一个兄弟布莱安，他却在4个月前出了车祸，一直昏迷躺在医院里。然而在他家发现了被系在一起的网球鞋，打结方式和凶手相同。还发现了几个被粘在卧室天花板上的番茄酱瓶子。那么，他怎样在4个月之前把包裹寄出的呢？
